No matter how old a firstborn child is, they’ll have some adjusting to do when a brother or a sister comes on the scene. As a Sussex newborn photographer, I’m sensitive to the fact that it can be quite an unsettling time for them so I like to take the opportunity to make them feel special, for them to dress up and have a few photos on their own. There’s no pressure for them to cuddle or interact with their new brother or sister. We take things at their pace and, when they’re ready, I’ll be there to simply capture the moment.
